interesting documentation for 3D programs

Well, not exactly.

It took me three days to figure out how to rotate one object in Bryce. I was tired, and that could be part of it. But still, the documentation should tell you how to use the basic parts of a 3D program very early on in the documentation.

The Blender book I bought at a bookstore spends chapter after chapter listing what the program can do, how it is setup.

Teaching me edit mode doesn’t happen until page 53. I almost tossed the book into the trash can.

I am not interested in learning the philosophy behind a computer program. It should be obvious anyway: 3D programs are for making 3D objects, word processors are for typing documents, etc.

If an author feels they must talk about the philosophy of a computer program, put it in the back in an appendix.

Teach how to use it, and I might be interested in its philospohy later on. Maybe.
